Some of my favorite memories of childhood is making Christmas candy. It’s just not Christmas without a good fudge or chocolate dipped pretzel. Anything you drop from a spoon onto wax paper is perfect for a neighborly gift, a Christmas party, or just to have around for your family to munch on during the holidays. I love the mix of sweet and salty which made pretzel candy perfect for a candy I could make this year. Add in a little peppermint for an extra festive touch. Also, this white chocolate peppermint pretzel candy is made in a crockpot!! This means you can throw it in while you online shop, wrap gifts or make other goodies. It’s so simple and so yummy.

Recipe:

STEP 1: Chop the vanilla bark and white chocolate.
STEP 2: Add bark and chocolate to a crockpot.
STEP 3: Add shortening.
STEP 4: Cover and cook on low heat setting for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until melted. Stir every 30 minutes.

STEP 5: Add peppermint extract, peppermints/candy canes and pretzels.
STEP 6: Stir to combine.
STEP 7: Drop by tablespoons onto wax paper and let stand until firm
STEP 8: Melt dark chocolate and drizzle over candy. Let stand until firm.

Ingredients

  • 20 oz. Vanilla Bark
  • 6 oz. white chocolate
  • 3 tablespoons butter-flavored shortening
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 16 oz. pkg. pretzels, chopped
  • 3/4 cups peppermints or candy canes, chopped
  • 3 oz. dark chocolate

Instructions

  1. Chop the vanilla bark and white chocolate.
  2. Add bark and chocolate to a crockpot.
  3. Add shortening.
  4. Cover and cook on low heat setting for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until melted. Stir every 30 minutes.
  5. Add peppermint extract. peppermints/candy canes and pretzels to the melted chocolate.
  6. Stir to comine.
  7. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto wax paper and let stand until firm.
  8. Melt dark chocolate and drizzle over candy. Let stand until firm.
