National Doughnut Day is FRIDAY! Since everyone should know by now that doughnuts are my love language, I am going to celebrate this national holiday ALL week. I seriously love doughnuts…from old fashioned sour cream, to deep fried goodness, to a good ol’ yeast doughnut, I L-O-V-E them all. I have had so much fun making homemade doughnuts over the years like these Apple Cider Doughnuts, Pink Lemonade Doughnuts, and even Oreo doughnuts. I decided to take on some of my favorite flavor combos, but in a healthier way than the “cronut” version I get from the local donut shop which is heavenly, but I have to save that for special occasions as I am sure it has 8,000 calories (totally worth it though).

Behind the combo of chocolate and peanut butter, maple and bacon is probably my next favorite combination of things. The super sweet maple flavor mixed with salty bacon is just THE BEST. It works so well on a doughnut and frankly, I was just craving them and these did not disappoint.
