It’s Winter and it is COLD! At least here in Nashville, it’s been pretty chilly and we have had so much snow this year. That makes me want to hole up in my home even more than I have already been (thank you COVID). I feel like this winter we are all experiencing the importance of your home being comfortable and a place of refuge from that crazy world out there. Today I am showing you some fun updates you can do in EVERY room of your house to “winterize” in the decorating sense.

Also, I feel like we start every year trying to be more budget conscience because by the time I get to December and gift season, I definitely have been spending more than usual! Also, we the uncertainty of COVID and people not be able to work quite as much, we are probably ALL on a budget. Just because you may be on a budget doesn’t mean you can surround yourself with a few things in your home to bring some joy and brighten up you surrounding, which is why everything I found below are below $100.

See below for how to start fresh and update your home decor for Winter on a budget!

For your Living Room:

I’ve been spending a lot of time on my sofa this year, usually with laptop in hand. I want my surroundings to be warm and cozy  and provide a sense of calm. Winter decorations are all about heavy fabrics and textures. I love neutral colors and natural materials in the winter months. This is a great time to switch out pillows and throw for heavier winter fabrics like  wool and faux fur. Add lots of candles and update those fireplace accessories!

For Your Bedroom:

My bedroom needs to be a retreat away from all the craziness and toys that are strewn about the rest of my house. Clean and white textured bedding is a great base to start your winter bedroom. Add a textured blanket to your bed and switch out pillows  for soft, plush ones. Make it feel cozy with some botanicals and candles or reed diffusers and don’t forget that oil diffuser to help clean the air while you sleep.

For Your Kitchen/Dining Room:

You sometimes forget to add some  ‘wintery’  accessories to your kitchen/dining space, but isn’t this the hear of your home where you spend a whole lot of time making soups, homemade bread and mixing up hot chocolate! Switch out your kitchen runner with a fuzzy patterned one and add some heavier winter patterns to your table runner and napkins. Fill your kitchen with all the  coffee mugs for sipping the hot beverage of choice and  add some new storage for all that homemade bread or whatever goodies you make be baking this winter.
