ON THE LIGHTER SIDE: TURKEY BURGERS

This is one of the easy weeknight meals we always go to. I try to keep ground turkey in my freezer, so when I haven’t planned any meals, I know I can always pull it out and make these super yummy burgers. We don’t eat a lot of red meat, but the husband loves a hamburger. These are a great, healthy alternative and you really don’t miss the beef too much. They are also really moist and super flavorful. I hope your family can enjoy these as much as mine does.

Step 1: Mix together ground turkey, oats, egg, garlic powder, onion powder and salt in a large bowl.

Side Note: You can grind up your oats if you prefer a smoother texture….I don’t mind them and it’s one less step.
Step 2: Divide and form into 8 patties.
Step 3: Put a little oil or cooking spray into a grill pan and cook on a few minutes on each side until done.

That’s literally it. How easy is that?!?! Now you see why I make these a few times a month when this busy mama needs a quick meal to get on the table so my 2 year old doesn’t eat goldfish and mac & cheese once again.
