MILKY WAY CAKE

Who bought way too much Halloween candy because you wanted certain candies that were all in different variety packs? Who buys all said candy when you aren’t even home because you are out with your own kids? Who spends 6 months actually eating all the candy, because that is how much you bought?? Just me???

Well, whether you have bought every variety of candy that exists for the pure nostalgia of it or you just want to steal your kids candy (because who wants a 2 year old hyped up on all the sugar), here is a recipe that will help you use up some of that leftover Halloween candy.

Also, My husband gets to pick out whatever cake he wants for his birthday every year. It is completely up to him and he can choose anything he wants. Despite that freedom, he always request 1 of 2 cakes, one of which is this cake. It is so sweet and yummy and rich and definitely not healthy in any way possible. But sometimes, yall just need to eat a piece a cake and enjoy it. Not only is this a great way to use up that leftover Halloween Candy but will also serve as a chance to totally indulge.

Step 1: Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease or Line cake pans. I did mine in 6″ pans since this was only for my husband and me, but the batter fits into 3 9″ pans well. Dust them with powdered sugar.

Step 2: Melt milky ways and 1 stick of butter in a small saucepan. Set aside and let cool.

Step 3: Mix together 2 sticks of room temperature butter and sugar.

Step 4: Add eggs and cooled milk way mixture and mix.

Step 5: Sift together flour and baking soda.

Step 6: Add the flour and buttermilk alternately to batter, beginning and ending with flour.

Step 7: Add vanilla.

Step 8: Divide batter among pans and bake for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Step 9: Cool in pans for 5 minutes and then remove to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Step 10: To prepare the icing, stir together sugar and milk in a saucepan.

Step 11: Cook mixture until it reaches 234 degrees (soft-ball stage).

Step 12: Once it reaches temperature, remove from heat and add marshmallow cream, butter and chocolate chips. Stir until melted.

Step 13: Working quickly, frost the cooled cake.
