Sugared Pecans

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pecans
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspon salt

Instructions

  1. Whip egg whites and water together until foamy.

  2. Add vanilla and stir.

  3. Mix salt, sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl.

  4. Add pecans to the egg white mixture and stir until all pecans are coated.

  5. Transfer the pecans to the cinnamon/sugar mixture with a slotted spoon and mix until pecans are coated.

  6. Spread the nuts out on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

  7. Bake the pecans at 250 degrees for 1 hours, stir. Stir pecans every 15 minutes to prevent clumping.

  8. Transfer to some wax paper to cool.
