Spicy Honey Wings

Servings 20 wings

Ingredients

  • 20 chicken wings separated
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons creole seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 cup hot sauce
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat you oven to 450 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Combine flour, garlic powder, creole seasoning, salt and white pepper in a large bowl.

  3. In another medium bowl, stir together hot sauce, honey and brown sugar until smooth. Set aside.

  4. Dredge the wings in the flour mixture, shake off excess and let rest on a plate while you heat the oil.

  5. Heat vegetable oil to 350 degrees in a deep pot with candy thermometer clipped to it.

  6. Once oil is hot, dredge the chicken wings in the flour one more time, shaking off excess, and place in the oil.

  7. Deep fry for about 12 minutes or until crispy and golden brown.

  8. Remove wings from oil and place on a plate to pat dry.
  9. Dip each wing into the sauce and place on the prepared baking sheet.

  10. Bake wings for another 12 minutes or until sauce is dry and caramelized.
