Shrimp Beignets

Servings 1 dozen

Ingredients

  • 1 x-large egg
  • 1 pound uncooked shrimp chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter melted
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/3 cup bread flour
  • vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, stir together the egg, shrimp, butter, salt, pepper and cayenne.

  2. Add the flour and stir until blended.

  3. Fill a large pot with oil about 2" high and heat to 375 degrees.

  4. Drop about 1 tablespoon of batter into the oil and fry until golden brown. It only takes a few minutes.

  5. Drain shrimp on some paper towels.

  6. Serve immediately.
