Watermelon Slushies

Easy & Delicious Watermelon Slushies to help you cool off this summer. #watermelonslushies #summerdrinks #slushyrecipes #slushies #homemadeslushies #drinkrecipes

It is now fully summertime, which means it is H-O-T. Of course, being pregnant in the summer for the first time is not quite as fun. It has me craving anything that will cool me down. Instead of my usual desire for ice cream. One of my cravings lately has been Sonic Slushies. It takes me back to my youth when I spent my summer days at my bestie’s pool covered in baby oil getting way to tan. Every afternoon, once we were way too golden, we would head down to the local Sonic and try every combination of slush this haven of drinks had to offer. The Watermelon Slush was a go-to for me so I decided, in an effort to save money this summer, to create my own.

I even made it a bit healthier as I am desperately trying to not gain 80 pounds with my constant cravings. If you have a good watermelon, you really don’t need to add much extra stuff and this only takes 3 ingredients. These would be great for a fun party drink. Add some spirits for an adult friendly version. Make a big pitcher for a party or put in individual cups and garnish with a slice of lime and sprig of fresh mint.
