MENU:
I had 3 tables – Snacks, Desserts & Drinks. Let’s start with Snacks…
Snack Table:
4×4 backdrop / trays (white, painted black with spray paint) / white trays / white bags / white popcorn boxes / black popcorn boxes / white cups / black ice cream cups / white ice cream cups / white tablecloth / ice cream cup lids / cone holders
The party was at 10, so we really just needed snack foods and desserts. I have learned my lesson from past experience to not worry about making everything homemade. BUY SNACKS! I was able to enjoy the couple of days before the party because I wasn’t slaving away in the kitchen making 38 things. Lesson learned. Plus, there are some GREAT snack foods out there! See my list below:
Pretzels
We served normal pretzels and yogurt covered pretzels. I love these Cauliflower Pretzels. You can get them at Sprouts, too.Cone holder / Tray (spray painted black)
Popcorn
If you follow me at all you know how much I love to serve popcorn. You can buy great products out there and you can make really easy recipes of it. We used Boom Chicka Pop’s White Cheddar and Kettle CornBlack Popcorn Boxes / White Tray
Fruit
You always need an option that is slightly healthy and free from most allergies!white ice cream cups / Clear ice cream cup lids
black ice cream cups / clear ice cream cup lids / black box (used for display)
Chips
Chips are always a great snack food and easy to display in a cute way. We used Simple Truth Sweet Potato chips and they were delicious.white bags / tray (spray painted black)
Cheese Crackers
I did make these homemade because I have the easiest recipe that is so yummy. You can find that here. I put them in these little bathroom cups that I placed a “1” sticker on.White Cups / Tray (spray painted black)
Dessert Table:
Cake stand / Black cardboard boxes / white rectangular platter / tray (painted black with black spray paint) / white popcorn boxes / paper plates / white tablecloth
This is where I chose to do some homemade items. It’s just kinda my thing. Also, desserts can be made ahead of time in a lot of cases, so you aren’t necessarily having to slave in the kitchen the night before your party.
Cupcakes
It’s a birthday party, so cupcakes are a requirement. In trying to keep with the Black and White Theme, I made Chocolate Cupcakes with Oreo Frosting and White Chocolate Frosting.cake stand
Oreo Balls
Easiest thing in the world to make. I put lollipop sticks in them so I could use my flags I designed to help bring the theme in. I sprinkled them with black sprinkles.Black Box / Lollipop sticks
Chocolate Covered Oreos
I know…it’s a long of Oreos….but when you think of “black and white” desserts, it is just what comes to mind. I have been making chocolate covered Oreos a lot in the last several years because you can decorate them in sooo many ways to match themes and they can just be really pretty. I did these in white chocolate and drizzled with black candy melts. You can see other chocolate ores I have made like these yellow sprinkle ones here, Halloween ones here and marbled ones here.white rectangular tray
Rice Krispie Treats
What kid doesn’t love a rice krispie treat, and adults…let’s be real, especially these salted caramel ones I make (recipe here). I cup strips of black and white scrapbook paper and wrapped them. This just makes them prettier on the table and seem like you are getting a little gift.white rectangular tray
Popcorn
I used the Boom Chick Pop Dark Chocolate Drizzled Popcorn on the dessert table because it is absolutely amazing and you must go buy a bag now and try it!
white popcorn box / tray (spray painted black)
Smash Cake
We got our smash cake from Ivey Cake in Nashville. Not only did they do exactly what I had in mind, but it was seriously delicious (I may or may not have eaten the half Ezra didn’t stick his hands in).
DRINKS:
I kept it simple here with mini water bottles. I also had a bucket for sparkling waters for adults and juice boxes for the kids.
I wrapped all the water bottles in paper with the mask and lightening bolt graphics.

Table Decorations:
You can see in Part 1 how I made the backdrops for the tables. See below for all the other little details that really brought my graphic and modern super hero theme to life.
Cake stand / Black cardboard boxes / white rectangular platter / tray (painted black with black spray paint) / white popcorn boxes / paper plates / white tablecloth
I designed several graphics for the party and used them to decorate throughout. I used the lightening bolt and super hero mask throughout the party. See below how I used these things to decorate the food tables.
4×4 backdrop / trays (natural, painted black with spray paint) / white trays / white bags / white popcorn boxes / black popcorn boxes / white cups / black ice cream cups / white ice cream cups / white tablecloth / ice cream cup lids / cone holders
Stickers
I used my cricut machine to print these graphics onto sticker paper. I used them on the popcorn boxes, fruit cups, little cups and chip bags. It’s that easy. Sometimes all it takes to take your table up a notch is to put food in a cool vessel and decorate according to your theme.

If you don’t have a Cricut, you can certainly print these out on the adhesive paper and cut them with scissors or an exacto knife. I also found similar stickers you can buy here and here.
Paper Cones
I found some cute black and white scrapbooking paper and made these cones. I designed a sticker for them and printed out on sticker paper. I then put through my Cricut machine to cut. See below for instructions on how to make these.
Flags and Cupcake toppers
I used the super hero mask graphic to make cupcake toppers and flags for the Oreo balls.
