We all know that I love to throw a party. One of the reasons I love to throw parties is because of the foods I get to make. I love all the cute and delicious party foods and appetizers you can make for a party. Does anyone else think of “Mermaids” when Cher would feed her kids party foods for dinner?? I always think back to that when I think about coming up with yummy ideas for showers, Christmas parties, and open houses. Back in the summer I opened my home for an open house for my dear friends’ online clothing boutique, Eli James. Side note: She has great clothes and great prices and you should definitely check her out. Anyway, I took this as an opportunity to try out some new recipes, as well as make some of my favs to share here.
I love to put together a cheese board for every party, because, well, who doesn’t love cheese. I expect cheese at every party I go to and I just want to give the people what they want. Besides that, it’s one thing I don’t have to make. Side note: I’ve gotten so much better at not overwhelming myself with so many homemade items that I get overwhelmed and don’t have fun putting events together. I just have always gotten so excited about trying new recipes and tend to overdo it, but I have really learned to edit and know my limits. With that said, I tried a lot of easy semi-homemade recipes that many you can make days ahead of time.
With a cheese board, you should definitely have some great accompaniments such as nuts, olives and fruit. I decided to make an easy spiced nut to go along with the cheese board. This was one of those recipes that I had in a pile to try for a while. I love nuts and love trying different recipes to take them up a notch. These turned out so yummy and couldn’t be easier. Hope you enjoy.
