Holidays bring out my desire to DIY every year. Dyeing eggs is an Easter tradition that was one of my favs as a child and something I’ve loved doing with my own kids. This year I decided to step up that dying game and make these beautiful Ombré Eggs that elevate your Easter decor!

I went with the good ol’ hard boiled egg for this craft, but you could totally use craft eggs and keep these for year to year decor. I also used bright colors for these, but you could use any color food coloring and make them more pastel or primary colors or even more neutrals. It just all depends on the type of food coloring you use.

How to make Ombre Eggs:

STEP 1: Place your bottle cap in the bottom of a glass.
STEP 2: Place an egg on top of the bottle cap.
STEP 3: Boil water and place 1/2 cup of water in a bowl (preferably with a spout) with 40 drops of food coloring and 1 teaspoon white vinegar. Repeat with other color of food coloring.
STEP 4: Pour enough water in the cup with the egg to where it comes up to about 1/3 of the egg. Let it sit for 5 minutes. Pour a little more water and allow to sit for 3 minutes. Pour more water until egg is completely covered and allow to sit for 2 minutes. Remove the egg and let it dry on a cooling rack.
