It is spring time which means it is time for me to plant my herbs. Herbs are the one thing I can seem to keep alive even with my black thumb. I also use a lot herbs in my cooking, so it’s alway a great way for me to have herbs on hand. Since we are living in an apartment while building a house, I needed some new pots for my herbs this year. I wanted a modern look, but always love a bit of whimsy. And puns. Who doesn’t love a good pun?? I am showing you today how to make pun pots that are look cool and modern but with a “punny” twist.

These are so easy to do. I made a template to trace the writing, but you could totally just freehand it. They are great for your own home, but also would make a great DIY gift for mom, your favorite teacher or a sweet neighbor.

Supplies needed for Herb Pun Pots:
- Terra Cotta Pots
- Spray Paint (color of your choice) I used Matte Black
- Paint Pen
- Herbs

Instructions for Pun Pots:
- Spray paint your pots with black paint (or color of your choice.
- OPTIONAL: Create a template and tape to the dried pot. I used my cricut to cut out the sayings. You can totally freehand this part.
- Write out each pun in a pretty font or handwriting.
- Plant your herbs.
