Who here has already put up Christmas decorations!? I know most people start decorating early, but I, personally, like to give Thanksgiving its due. I refuse to put up a Christmas tree until the day after we have stuffed ourselves full of turkey and pie. I love to enjoy the few weeks between Halloween & Thanksgiving and truly enjoy all that fall has to offer. I pull out all the earth tones a girl can have (see my fav picks here) to bring in the warmth of this season before its all shiny, glittery and snowy comes into play. Thanksgiving may truly be the least affected holiday during this pandemic we have found ourselves in, since it takes place around your dinner table with family and close friends. Let’s take full advantage of that and do it up right this year.
In addition to all the decor you can buy to get your home fall ready, it’s also fun to do a little DIY projects. I have done some fun ones like these Cork Leaf Trivets or “Thankful” Plates for your table. If you are looking for some fun projects to do at home, try this super simple Raffia Wreath. All you need is some raffia and a ring of some kind. It’s natural and little bohemian and would be perfect to bring some fall vibes for Thanksgiving this year.
See below for step x step instructions (with pictures) on how to make your own Raffia Wreath.
Affiliate links are used in my post. What does that mean? If you purchase through my link I will receive a small commission and it doesn’t change the price for you at all! However, I only ever recommend products/services that I absolutely LOVE and use myself or would use myself! If you choose to support me through purchasing through my links, it allows me to continue to bring you info that you enjoy and hopefully use. So I thank you for any and all support.
Supplies:
Gold Rings
Raffia (amazon) or Raffia (Target)
Instructions:
STEP 1: Cut your raffia into strips. Most of the strips are already a good length, but you may want to cut some up all depending on how big you want your wreath to be. My strips were probably between 12 & 18 inches.
STEP 2: Grab a bundle of 2-3 raffia strips and fold in half.
STEP 3: Place the loop part under the ring.
STEP 4: Fold loop down over the ring and pull the raffia through the loop.
STEP 5: Pull the raffia to tighten around the ring.
STEP 6: Continue this process until you have filled the entire ring.
STEP 7: Snip the ends of the raffia to shape the wreath and make it as long or short as you want.
