Today, I am showing you how to take some simple cork board you can buy at any craft store and turn it into a really cool tabletop accessory!
I entertain a lot. I always have a real need for trivets or hot plates to put on the table or my island. I fully realize you can plop a oven mitt down and be fine. But that’s not pretty. I am here to help make your life pretty with simple things.

Affiliate links are used in my post. What does that mean? If you purchase through my link I will receive a small commission and it doesn’t change the price for you at all! However, I only ever recommend products/services that I absolutely LOVE and use myself or would use myself! If you choose to support me through purchasing through my links, it allows me to continue to bring you info that you enjoy and hopefully use. So I thank you for any and all support.
WHAT YOU NEED:
Cork Boards – I got mine form Hobby Lobby. I saw you can also get them from Target.
Painter’s Tape
Paint – you can use any color. I chose black and white because that is my jam.
Paint brush
STEP 1: Use the painter tape and stretch across the cork board from point to point.
STEP 2: Move over 2 points and stretch another piece of tape from point to point.
STEP 3: Paint the taped off section and allow to dry.
STEP 4: Once the first section has dried, pull the tape off and place a new piece of tape at the edge of where you just paint from point to point.
STEP 5: Move over 2 points and stretch another piece of tape from point to point.
STEP 6: Paint section with your 2nd color and allow to dry.
STEP 7: Once paint has dried, pull of the tape and enjoy!
Notes: You could paint 3 sections if you wanted, but I liked the natural look of the cork with the black and white.
