It February…the month we get to celebrate LOVE!! If you haven’t realized by now, I love alll the fun holidays and anything I can plan a theme around! I’m going to be bringing you 2 full weeks of Valentine’s Day related posts. Who’s excited! I’m excited to bring it to you!
First up. CHOCOLATE. Valentine’s Day is not only made for celebrating love, but also SWEETS, right? Especially, CHOCOLATE! I remember growing up, my mom would always have one of those heart-shaped box of chocolates waiting on us the morning of Valentine’s day every year. It definitely her fault I have such a sweet tooth. These double dark chocolate cookies are the best kind of chocolat-y goodness. Also, make sure to scroll down to the very bottom to see how you can package them up for you Valentine or maybe for co-workers or teachers.

RECIPE:
STEP 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degree and prep some cookie sheets with parchment.
STEP 2: Melt the 8 oz of semi-sweet chocolate and butter in the microwave or double boiler. Set aside. If using the microwave, make sure to heat slowly and follow package directions. You do not want to overheat or burn your chocolate.
STEP 3: In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
STEP 4: Mix eggs, brown sugar and vanilla in a large bowl with electric mixer.
STEP 5: Add melted chocolate and beat until combined.
STEP 6: Add the flour mixture and beat on low until just combined.
STEP 7: Add chocolate chunks and fold in until distributed throughout dough.
STEP 8: Using a cookie/ice cream scoop, drop dough into prepared baking sheets about 2” apart.

STEP 9: Bake cookies for 12-15 minutes. Cool on pans for about 10 minutes then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.

Now here is how to turn those yummy cookies into a cute Valentine’s gift.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Clear Bags
Scrap-booking Paper – I got mine from Hobby Lobby a couple of years ago, but HERE is a link to some pretty paper that would be great for Valentine’s Day.
Double Stick Tape
This is so easy to put together, but makes it look like you put some effort into it.
STEP 1: Put a couple cookies in your baggies.
STEP 2: Cut your paper into squares or circles the same width as your baggies – Full disclosure….I had these circles cut out for Eden’s birthday party left over from almost 2 years ago, so I am recycling!
STEP 3: Tape each side of your circle or square.
STEP 4: Attach your clear bag filled with cookies to the inside of you cut out and then close and tape it down to the front side.
And just like that, you have a super cute cookie package to pass out to all you loved ones!!
