Chilly fall evenings always make me want a big cup of hot chocolate. I mean I need something to put my Espresso Marshmallow in, right? Did anyone notice the Spicy Hot chocolate trend that happened last winter?? They sold it in every store…Williams-Sonoma, Target, Kroger’s Private Selection and Sur la Table were just a few places I KNOW had it.
My favorite one from ALL the specialty holiday hot chocolate offerings was the Mexican Spice Hot Chocolate from Sur La Table. It was soooo good! Here is hoping they have it again this year, because I will stock up! However, you can’t buy these items just yet though and I am craving it so bad, which led me to try to make my own. It turned out pretty close to what I remember. If you are craving that flavor before they start stocking the shelves this season, check out the recipe below.
Disclaimer: This is NOT for the kiddos. It has a definite kick, so if you like to mix sweet and spicy, THIS is for you!
