Biscuit Donuts with Sprinkles

Biscuit Donuts

Ingredients

Donuts:

  • 1-2 cans large buttermilk biscuits depending on how many you want to make
  • peanut oil for frying

Icings:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar divided
  • 5 tablespoons whole milk divided
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • sprinkes, nuts, cookie crumbs, etc

Instructions

  1. Heat peanut oil in a large pot, such as a Dutch Oven, to 350 degrees. You need to have at least 2" oil.

  2. Prepare the icings and set aside: In one bowl, whisk together 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons whole milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla. In another bowl, whisk together 1 cup powdered sugar, 1/4 cup cocoa powder and 3 tablespoons milk.

  3. Open a can of biscuits and place on a cutting board.

  4. Using a small cooking cutter and cut out the center of each biscuits.

  5. Gently lower 2-3 donuts or several of the holes into the oil and fry until golden brown. Flip and allow the other side to cook until golden brown. It will only take a few minutes.

  6. Use a slotted spoon or spatula to life the donuts out of oil.

  7. Place on a paper towel lined plate to drain and cool a little.

  8. Once they have cooled a little, dip in the glaze of choice and decorate however you want.
