It’s teacher appreciation week this week. I think this year, more than ever, we REALLY, REALLY, REALLY appreciate the teachers out there. We suddenly had to help out in this arena due to the recent pandemic. Those who never intended on being a teacher were suddenly thrust into homeschool teacher, and let me tell you, teachers should be paid a WHOLE lot more. It is H-A-R-D. It is a tireless, demanding and selfless job. It requires the patience of a saint. They are the ones who kindly deal with the confusion of the crazy math. They are the ones that answer ALL the inventive crazy questions that are asked of them approximate 103 times a day. They break up bickering kids on the daily. They instruct, guide and love on these kiddos of ours. And for that I am so thankful for them. Because, I have learned quickly over the next few weeks, that I could NEVER do it myself.
Though most of out kids have been out of school for the last couple of months, teachers have still been working so hard to put together packets and lesson plans for all the families out there. They have been planning classroom zoom calls and making sure kids are staying connected the best way they can. They deserve to be loved a little extra this year. I put together several different Teacher’s Baskets Ideas to make this a little easier on all the parents.

The Art Teacher who wants to do their own projects
Art teachers spend time helping kiddos with age appropriate art projects. These teachers, who are artists themselves want to spend their own time working on their craft instead of helping kids learn to fade colors or glue paper to a stick. A really nice set of colored pencils or paint will be so appreciated by this teacher. Get them a nice pencil case or a personalized paint water cup is always a way to make them feel special. We tend to always pick a up a mug, lotion or apple-themed gift for the teachers (don’t get me wrong, those things can be nice as I have featured them in the other baskets), but let’s try to think outside of the box and come up with some really thoughtful gifts this year. These are the things they would never buy for themselves or make them think “I’ve never gotten anything like this before!” Let’s make them feel extra special by going beyond the generic gift and put together something really unique.
