Now is the time of year where I try to figure out what green food I can make that people will actually want to eat. Being festive is my love language and eating all green food on St. Patrick’s day is my way extra way of bringing in the fun any chance I get. Are we are Irish? No. Do we celebrate anything we can? YES! While I have managed to find some ways to add green to my favorite treats, I wanted to go more natural this year and use a green that the good Lord gave us. I immediately thought of Matcha! Not only does it make things a beautiful green color that is perfect for celebrating St. Patrick’s day, but it has so many great health benefits! I’ve made matcha stuff before with these cute mini Matcha Doughnuts to Matcha Ice Cream, but this time I wanted to add to my favorite sweet treat…a cookie! And just like that, these Matcha Crinkle Cookies were born!
See Below for Step x Step Instructions (including pictures) on how to make these Matcha Crinkle Cookies!
Matcha is a strong flavor and can be very grass like, so I think mixing it into a soft cookie mix that is covered in powdered sugar is the best way to balance out the strong flavor of this green tea. These turned out really yummy, even my matcha hating husband thought they were pretty good.
