I never get as many compliments on anything as much as I do for these Pecan Bars. Everyone loves them and I always, always get asked for the recipe. So here it is. They seriously are little bites of deliciousness. I usually make them in the fall or at Christmas time but they are delicious all year round. Now these aren’t diet food. But I cut them small, sooooo…all in moderation right??? Thank me later…

Recipe:
Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Step 2: Make the crust: Mix butter, brown sugar and salt until light and fluffy.
Step 3: Add flour a little at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix until it forms a ball.
Step 4: Press this dough into a 9×13 Pyrex. I like to put parchment into my pans. It just makes it easier to pull out and cut.
Step 5: Prick the dough with a fork.
Step 6: Stick the dough in the fridge for about 20 minutes to chill it.
Step 7: Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden. Allow this to cool completely.
Step 9: Reduce the oven to 325 degrees.
Step 10: Make the filling: Put butter, brown sugar, honey, granulated sugar, heavy cream and salt in a saucepan and put it over high heat.
Step 11: Let it come to a boil, about 1 minute, while stirring.
Step 12: Remove from the heat and stir in the pecans and vanilla.
Step 13: Pour this mixture over the cooled crust.
Step 14: Bake for 15-20 minutes. It will start to bubble a bit.
Step 15: Let this cool completely.
I like to put them in the fridge for a while before cutting. It’s just easier to cut when they are cold and makes for a cleaner cut.
I realize these seem like a lot of steps, but they are very easy steps and so simple to make, and, like I said above this recipe is my most requested. Hope this can be a great go-to recipe for you in the next few months when you need an easy baked good for any holiday party.
