Who doesn’t love a corn dog? Whether you are at the county fair or a quick trip to Sonic, corn dogs are always a win. Did you know that is is relatively easy to make your own corn dogs?? And, even better than that – Mini Corn dogs! Because anything bite size is fun, especially for a party. My mini corn dog recipe is perfect for a back to school bash serving kids, but equally liked by your adult friends as an hors d’ouevres.

Gather Your Ingredients:
- vegetable oil
- cocktail smokies
- cornstarch
- AP Flour
- yellow cornmeal
- sugar
- egg
- milk
- baking powder

Mini Corn Dog Recipe:
STEP 1: Add cocktail smokies and cornstarch to a bowl and toss to coat.
STEP 2: Thread smokies onto a wooden skewer.
STEP 3: In another mixing bowl, add flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, salt and pepper and whisk to combine.
STEP 4: In another bowl, whisk together milk and egg. Add to the dry ingredients and stir together until just combined.
STEP 5: Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium high heat.
STEP 6: Working with a few at a time, dredge cocktail smokies into batter until covered.
STEP 7: Add battered smokies to oil and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes.
STEP 8: Transfer to a paper towel lined plate and serve immediately.
