Brunch is my favorite kind of party to throw and that is mainly because of the food. Give me ALL the eggs, bacon, muffins and pastries! They are just endless recipe ideas for a brunch party and the recipe I am sharing today for Mini Citrus Monkey Bread is an updated version of a class dish, turned into a mini option that makes it PERFECT for a summer brunch….or spring or fall for that matter! Monkey bread is so nostalgic for me! We didn’t have a morning gathering at church growing up without several monkey breads. I mean, you dip some sort of bread into butter and sugar and bake it. How could that ever be bad. Making mini versions is such a great way for an easy brunch party idea.

This recipe calls for pizza dough, however I only had 1 lb on hand, but I also had a can of biscuits which is the OG way of making monkey bread, at least where I grew up. I tried both. The pizza dough baked up larger, but I preferred the butteriness and flavor of the biscuits. Both were fantastic, though. You may want to cook the biscuits slightly less if using them.
